| Fallon began running at age 8 after her 3rd grade
physical education coach at Rawlings Elementary school recommended her
to race in the Gate River Run in Jacksonville, Florida. She made the
suggestion after seeing that Fallon always collected the most popsicle
sticks for each lap completed in her gym class. In March of 1995, she
broke a 10 year standing record for 8 year olds in the 15 Kilometer
race. Since then, her running career took off. In high school, Fallon was an All-State Athlete in Florida all 4 years for cross-country and track and field clocking notable times of 18:55 in the 5k race and 10:57 in the 3200 meter race. In college, she signed with a Division I university in Jacksonville, Florida before transferring to a more prestigious track program in 2007. She now is an athlete for the University of San Francisco Dons at the Catholic Jesuit USF. Under Coach Helen Lehmen-Winters, Fallon has been an all West Coast Conference performer with cross-country performances of 17:25 in the 5K event and 21:21 in the 6K event. Fallon has qualified for the Regional Championships on the track twice in the 3000 meter steeple-chase event clocking a time of 10:49. With one season left for the USF Dons, her sights are set on competing in the steeple-chase event in Dons uniform at the Division I NCAA Nationals in June of 2009. |
